Durga Saptashati — Chapter 9, Verse 29

Nishumbha Vadha

ततो निशुम्भः सम्प्राप्य चेतनामात्तकार्मुकः । आजघान शरैर्देवीं कालीं केसरिणं तथा ॥ २९ ॥

tato niśhumbhaḥ samprāpya chetanāmāttakārmukaḥ ājaghāna śharairdevīṁ kālīṁ kesariṇaṁ tathā

Translation

Then Nishumbha, regaining consciousness, took up his bow and struck the Devi, Kali and the lion with his arrows.

Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)

इतने में निशुम्भ को चेतना आई और उसने धनुष लेकर बाणों से देवी, काली और सिंह को घायल कर डाला।

Commentary

The brothers take turns, each rising as the other falls.
