kenopamā bhavatu te’sya parākramasya rūpaṁ cha śhatrubhayakāryatihāri kutra chitte kṛipā samaraniṣhṭhuratā cha dṛiṣhṭā tvayyeva devi varade bhuvanatraye’pi
Translation
With what can your valour be compared? Where else is there a form both terrifying to enemies and so enchanting? Mercy in the heart and ruthlessness in battle: in the three worlds these are seen in you alone, O boon-giving Devi.

आपके इस पराक्रम की तुलना किससे हो? शत्रुओं को भय देने वाला और अत्यंत मनोहर ऐसा रूप और कहाँ है? हृदय में कृपा और युद्ध में निष्ठुरता, ये दोनों तीनों लोकों में केवल आपमें ही देखी गई हैं, हे वरदायिनी देवि।
Commentary
Chitte kripa samara-nishthurata cha, "mercy in the heart and ruthlessness in battle": perhaps the best one-line summary of the Devi in the whole Saptashati.
