सोऽपि शक्तिं मुमोचाथ देव्यास्तामम्बिका द्रुतम् । हुंकाराभिहतां भूमौ पातयामास निष्प्रभाम् ॥ १२ ॥
so’pi śhaktiṁ mumochātha devyāstāmambikā drutam huṁkārābhihatāṁ bhūmau pātayāmāsa niṣhprabhām
Translation
He too hurled a spear at the Devi, but Ambika swiftly struck it with a mere "hum" and made it fall, lifeless, to the ground.
Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)
उसने भी देवी पर शक्ति फेंकी, पर अम्बिका ने तुरंत "हुं" की ध्वनि से उसे आहत और निष्प्रभ करके धरती पर गिरा दिया।
Commentary
Humkara, the sound "hum," is enough. In Tantra, "hum" is a seed syllable of power and protection, and here it defeats a weapon on its own.
