यत्प्रेमप्रवणं चित्तं विगुणेष्वपि बन्धुषु । तेषां कृते मे निःश्वासो दौर्मनस्यं च जायते ॥ ३३ ॥
yatpremapravaṇaṁ chittaṁ viguṇeṣhvapi bandhuṣhu teṣhāṁ kṛite me niḥśhvāso daurmanasyaṁ cha jāyate
Translation
My heart leans in love even toward kinsmen who lack all virtue. For their sake I sigh and feel low.

गुणहीन बंधुओं के प्रति भी मेरा चित्त प्रेम में झुका रहता है। उनके लिए मैं लंबी साँसें लेता हूँ और उदास रहता हूँ।
Commentary
The honesty of this verse is part of the Saptashati's appeal. It does not pretend that devotion begins with a calm, detached person. It begins with someone sighing over those who hurt him.
