Durga Saptashati — Chapter 9, Verse 14

Nishumbha Vadha

कोपाध्मातो निशुम्भोऽथ शूलं जग्राह दानवः । आयातं मुष्टिपातेन देवी तच्चाप्यचूर्णयत् ॥ १४ ॥

kopādhmāto niśhumbho’tha śhūlaṁ jagrāha dānavaḥ āyātaṁ muṣhṭipātena devī tachchāpyachūrṇayat

Translation

Then the danava Nishumbha, swelling with anger, took up a trident, and as it came the Devi smashed that too with a blow of her fist.

Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)

तब क्रोध से जलते दानव निशुम्भ ने शूल उठाया, और पास आने पर देवी ने उसे भी मुक्के से मारकर चूर्ण कर दिया।
