yasya devasya yadrūpaṁ yathābhūṣhaṇavāhanam tadvadeva hi tachchhaktirasurān yoddhumāyayau
Translation
Whatever form each god had, with his own ornaments and vehicle, his shakti came in just that form to fight the asuras.

जिस देवता का जैसा रूप, जैसी वेशभूषा और जैसा वाहन था, ठीक वैसे ही उसकी शक्ति असुरों से युद्ध करने आई।

The Matrikas mirror their gods exactly. This became the basis of the iconography of the Saptamatrikas (Seven Mothers) found in many temples.
