देवि दैत्येश्वरः शुम्भस्त्रैलोक्ये परमेश्वरः । दूतोऽहं प्रेषितस्तेन त्वत्सकाशमिहागतः ॥ १०६ ॥
devi daityeśhvaraḥ śhumbhastrailokye parameśhvaraḥ dūto’haṁ preṣhitastena tvatsakāśhamihāgataḥ
Translation
"O Devi, Shumbha, lord of the daityas, is the supreme lord of the three worlds. I am a messenger sent by him and have come here to you.
Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)
"हे देवि! दैत्यराज शुम्भ तीनों लोकों के परमेश्वर हैं। मैं उन्हीं का भेजा हुआ दूत हूँ और यहाँ आपके पास आया हूँ।
Commentary
The messenger calls Shumbha parameshvara, "supreme lord," to the one who truly is the Supreme. The irony is intended.
