Durga Saptashati — Chapter 4, Verse 2

Shakradi Stuti

शक्रादयः सुरगणा निहतेऽतिवीर्ये तस्मिन्दुरात्मनि सुरारिबले च देव्या । तां तुष्टुवुः प्रणतिनम्रशिरोधरांसा वाग्भिः प्रहर्षपुलकोद्गमचारुदेहाः ॥ २ ॥

śhakrādayaḥ suragaṇā nihate’tivīrye tasmindurātmani surāribale cha devyā tāṁ tuṣhṭuvuḥ praṇatinamraśhirodharāṁsā vāgbhiḥ praharṣhapulakodgamachārudehāḥ

Translation

When that mighty, wicked one and the demon army had been slain by the Devi, Indra and the hosts of gods, their necks and shoulders bowed in reverence, their lovely bodies thrilling with joy, praised her with these words:

जब वह अत्यंत पराक्रमी दुरात्मा और असुरों की सेना देवी द्वारा मारी गई, तब इन्द्र आदि देवगण प्रणाम के लिए गर्दन और कंधे झुकाकर, हर्ष से रोमांचित सुंदर शरीरों वाले होकर, उत्तम वचनों से उनकी स्तुति करने लगे:

Commentary

Chapter 4 is the Shakradi Stuti, "the hymn of Indra and the others," one of the four great hymns of the Saptashati. It switches to the longer vasantatilaka metre, suited to elevated praise. Gita Press notes that some manuscripts add a line before this verse introducing the hymn.
