सूर्येन्द्राग्न्यनिलेन्दूनां यमस्य वरुणस्य च । अन्येषां चाधिकारान् स स्वयमेवाधितिष्ठति ॥ ६ ॥
sūryendrāgnyanilendūnāṁ yamasya varuṇasya cha anyeṣhāṁ chādhikārān sa svayamevādhitiṣhṭhati
Translation
"He himself has taken over the offices of Surya, Indra, Agni, Vayu, Chandra, Yama, Varuna and the other gods.
Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)
"वह सूर्य, इन्द्र, अग्नि, वायु, चन्द्रमा, यम, वरुण तथा अन्य देवताओं के अधिकार छीनकर स्वयं ही सबका अधिष्ठाता बन बैठा है।
Commentary
Each god governs a part of nature: sun, rain, fire, wind, moon, death, water. Mahisha has seized them all, so the whole universe is out of balance.
