ततः पराजिता देवाः पद्मयोनिं प्रजापतिम् । पुरस्कृत्य गतास्तत्र यत्रेशगरुडध्वजौ ॥ ४ ॥
tataḥ parājitā devāḥ padmayoniṁ prajāpatim puraskṛitya gatāstatra yatreśhagaruḍadhvajau
Translation
Then the defeated gods, with lotus-born Brahma the creator at their head, went to where Shiva and Vishnu (who has Garuda on his banner) were.

तब पराजित देवता कमलयोनि प्रजापति ब्रह्मा को आगे करके वहाँ गए जहाँ भगवान शंकर और गरुड़ध्वज विष्णु विराजमान थे।
Commentary
The gods go to the highest authorities they know: Brahma leads them to Shiva and Vishnu. Even the trinity cannot solve this alone, as the next verses show.
