अददज्जलधिस्तस्यै पङ्कजं चातिशोभनम् । हिमवान् वाहनं सिंहं रत्नानि विविधानि च ॥ २९ ॥

Translation
The ocean gave her a beautiful lotus; Himavan (the Himalaya) gave her a lion to ride, and many kinds of jewels.

समुद्र ने उन्हें सुंदर कमल दिया; हिमालय ने सवारी के लिए सिंह और भाँति-भाँति के रत्न दिए।
Commentary
The lion, her famous vahana, comes from the Himalaya, the mountain that is father of Parvati. Durga as simhavahini, rider of the lion, is born here.
