You who dwell in the hearts of all people as intelligence, who grant heaven and liberation, O Devi Narayani, salutations to you.

Commentary
Here begins the refrain narayani namo'stu te, "Narayani, salutations to you," which ends verses 8–23 and gives the hymn its popular name.
