Commentary

Gita Press explains Babhravi as "tawny, or Parvati" and Tamasi as Mahakali. It notes that the commentator Shantanavi accepts one extra verse here, describing the Devi as having hands, feet, eyes, heads and ears everywhere, in words that echo Bhagavad Gita 13.13.
