you are modesty, nourishment and contentment, you are peace and patience. Terrible, you bear the sword, the trident, the mace and the discus,

Commentary
The hymn moves from inner virtues (peace, patience) straight to weapons. The same Mother who is gentle within also fights fiercely for her children.
