Durga Saptashati — Chapter 1, Verse 103

Madhu-Kaitabha Vadha

tathetyuktvā bhagavatā śhaṅkhachakragadābhṛitā kṛitvā chakreṇa vai chchhinne jaghane śhirasī tayoḥ

Translation

"Saying 'So be it,' the Lord who bears conch, discus and mace cut off their two heads with his discus, on his thigh.

Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)

Commentary

Vishnu's thigh is dry land in the middle of the ocean, so the loophole closes. The first episode ends with the demons slain through the Devi's power working through Vishnu.
