Addressed thus, the asura Dhumralochana ran at her, and Ambika reduced him to ashes with a mere "hum."

इस प्रकार कहे जाने पर असुर धूम्रलोचन उनकी ओर दौड़ा, तब अम्बिका ने केवल "हुं" की ध्वनि से उसे भस्म कर दिया।
Commentary
One syllable, "hum," is enough to destroy him, as it was enough to break Chamara's spear in 3.12. He who threatened her with force is undone by a sound.
