Commentary
Ya devi sarvabhuteshu, "the Devi who in all beings...", is perhaps the most famous hymn of the Saptashati, sung at Navaratri across India. Each stanza names a form in which the Devi lives inside every creature, and the triple namah ("salutation to her") is traditionally counted as three separate mantras, which is why each stanza carries three numbers. It begins with Vishnumaya, the same power as Yoganidra in chapter 1.
