ॐ श्री महालक्ष्म्यै च विद्महे विष्णुपत्न्यै च धीमहि । तन्नो लक्ष्मीः प्रचोदयात् ॥

Om Shri Mahalakshmyai Cha Vidmahe Vishnupatnyai Cha Dhimahi Tanno Lakshmih Prachodayat
What this mantra means
The mantra names Lakshmi in her fuller form, Mahalakshmi, and identifies her specifically as Vishnu's consort (Vishnupatni), before asking her to illuminate the reciter's understanding — following the same Gayatri structure used across this site's other deity Gayatri mantras.
Why Lakshmi and Vishnu are paired
