A UGC-recognised (Section 2(f)), NAAC-accredited university at Patanjali Yog Peeth, Haridwar, established in 2006. Alongside its large Yoga Science department it teaches Sanskrit, Vyakarana, Darshan and Veda at B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. level, with fee concessions for students of these traditional subjects.

History
Established in 2006
The University of Patanjali was established in 2006 and is recognised under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, and accredited by NAAC. Its stated vision is to address global challenges by integrating ancient Vedic wisdom with contemporary scientific research, and to restore India's cultural heritage and tradition of knowledge. Daily yajna and yoga practice are part of campus life.
Departments of Yoga, Sanskrit and Philosophy
The Department of Yoga Science and the Department of Sanskrit were both established in 2009. The Yoga department offers programmes from B.A. and B.Sc. to Ph.D. and D.Litt. The Sanskrit department combines grammar and literature with manuscriptology and Sanskrit computational linguistics. The Department of Philosophy, running since 2016, teaches on the lines of the guru-shishya parampara. The university gives a 50% fee concession to students of these departments and a full concession to lifelong brahmacharis and sannyasis.
