About
Madhya Pradesh's state Sanskrit and Vedic university in Ujjain — the historic seat of Indian astronomy — set up under Madhya Pradesh Act XV of 2008 and NAAC-accredited with grade A. It is especially strong in Jyotish, offering Acharya in both Phalit and Siddhanta Jyotisha and M.A. programmes in Jyotirvigyana and Vastu.

History
A state university (2008)
The university was established as a public state university under Madhya Pradesh Act No. XV of 2008 and is accredited with grade A by NAAC.
A gurukul-like campus
It occupies about 25 acres on Dewas Road near Ujjain. Its first academic complex, "Panchavati", is built around five buildings and a central platform in the manner of an ancient gurukul. The university also has the Shri Ramanuj Sanskrit campus at Laxman Bagh, Rewa.
