History
From a guru's sankalp to a university (2013)
Lakulish Yoga University grew out of the spiritual vision of Swami Kripalvanandaji, who held that lasting institutions are shaped by spiritual wisdom and ethical leadership. His disciple Swami Rajarshi Muni turned that sankalp into a university for Yoga education, research and practice. It was established in April 2013 under the Gujarat Private Universities Act, 2009, and inaugurated on 23 May 2013 by Shri Narendra Modi, then Chief Minister of Gujarat, at its Lotus View campus on the S.G. Highway, Ahmedabad.
Its approach
The university aims to integrate the ancient wisdom of Indian Yoga with scientific, evidence-based approaches while preserving its classical traditions and philosophy. Its programmes run through two faculties, Ashtanga Yoga and Karma, Gyana and Bhakti Yoga, at undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and skill levels, in line with UGC norms.
