Karnataka's Sanskrit university in Bengaluru, established by the state in 2010 under the Karnataka Samskrita Vishwavidyalaya Act, 2009. It offers a B.A. in Samskrita and a B.A. in Shastra, faculties of Vyakarana, Vedanta and Nyaya-Vaisheshika, Jyotishya study centres, and Ph.D. programmes — and admits students without school Sanskrit through its own entrance exam.

History
Established in 2010
Karnataka Samskrit University was established by the Government of Karnataka in 2010 through the Karnataka Samskrita Vishwavidyala Act, 2009, and works from Chamarajpet in Bengaluru.
A door for new learners
For its B.A., the university accepts students who passed PUC or an equivalent course with Sanskrit — and also those who studied without Sanskrit, provided they pass the university's own B.A. entrance examination.
