एवं परम्पराप्राप्तमिमं राजर्षयो विदुः । स कालेनेह महता योगो नष्टः परन्तप ॥ २ ॥
evaṁ paramparā-prāptam imaṁ rājarṣhayo viduḥ sa kāleneha mahatā yogo naṣhṭaḥ parantapa
Translation
Thus handed down in succession, the royal sages knew it. But with the long passage of time, O scorcher of foes, this yoga was lost in the world.
Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)
हे परंतप! इस प्रकार परंपरा से प्राप्त इस योग को राजर्षियों ने जाना; किंतु बहुत समय बीत जाने से यह योग इस लोक में लुप्त हो गया।
Commentary
Paramparā — the chain of teacher to student — is how sacred knowledge survives, and when the chain breaks, it fades. Notably, this yoga was held by rājarṣhis, royal sages — people who ruled and fought, like Arjun, not only forest hermits.
