यस्य सर्वे समारम्भाः कामसङ्कल्पवर्जिताः । ज्ञानाग्निदग्धकर्माणं तमाहुः पण्डितं बुधाः ॥ १९ ॥
yasya sarve samārambhāḥ kāma-saṅkalpa-varjitāḥ jñānāgni-dagdha-karmāṇaṁ tam āhuḥ paṇḍitaṁ budhāḥ
Translation
One whose undertakings are all free from desire and selfish motive, whose actions are burned up in the fire of knowledge — the wise call that person learned.
Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)
जिसके सभी कर्म कामना और संकल्प से रहित हैं, तथा जिसके सब कर्म ज्ञान रूपी अग्नि द्वारा भस्म हो गए हैं, उसे ज्ञानीजन पंडित कहते हैं।
Commentary
The image of the "fire of knowledge" appears for the first time. Understanding the truth of the self burns away the binding power of past and present actions, as fire burns seeds so they cannot sprout.
