कर्मण्यकर्म यः पश्येदकर्मणि च कर्म यः । स बुद्धिमान्मनुष्येषु स युक्तः कृत्स्नकर्मकृत् ॥ १८ ॥
karmaṇyakarma yaḥ paśhyed akarmaṇi cha karma yaḥ sa buddhimān manuṣhyeṣhu sa yuktaḥ kṛitsna-karma-kṛit
Translation
One who sees inaction in action and action in inaction is wise among people; they are a yogi, even while performing all actions.

जो मनुष्य कर्म में अकर्म देखता है और अकर्म में कर्म देखता है, वह मनुष्यों में बुद्धिमान है, और वह योगी समस्त कर्म करने वाला है।
Commentary
A famous paradox. "Inaction in action": a person working without ego and attachment is, inwardly, not really "doing" anything binding. "Action in inaction": someone who withdraws from duty out of selfishness or fear is still acting — and creating karma. Arjun's proposed withdrawal falls in the second category.
