यततो ह्यपि कौन्तेय पुरुषस्य विपश्चितः । इन्द्रियाणि प्रमाथीनि हरन्ति प्रसभं मनः ॥ ६० ॥
yatato hyapi kaunteya puruṣhasya vipaśhchitaḥ indriyāṇi pramāthīni haranti prasabhaṁ manaḥ
Translation
For the turbulent senses, O son of Kunti, forcibly carry away the mind even of a wise person who is striving.

हे कौन्तेय! प्रयत्न करते हुए विवेकी पुरुष के मन को भी ये प्रबल इंद्रियाँ बलपूर्वक हर लेती हैं।
Commentary
Krishna does not pretend the path is easy. Even a discerning person who is trying hard can be overpowered by the senses. The word pramāthīni — churning, violent — captures how suddenly a craving can take over. Humility about our weaknesses is part of wisdom.
