Bhagavad Gita — Chapter 2, Verse 55

śhrī bhagavān uvācha prajahāti yadā kāmān sarvān pārtha mano-gatān ātmany-evātmanā tuṣhṭaḥ sthita-prajñas tadochyate

Translation

The Blessed Lord said: O Parth, when a person gives up all the desires that arise in the mind, and is content in the self by the self, then they are called one of steady wisdom.

Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)

Commentary

The first and central mark: contentment from within. Ātmany evātmanā tuṣhṭaḥ — satisfied in the self, by the self. Such a person is not suppressing desires by force; they simply no longer need outside things to feel whole.
