Bhagavad Gita — Chapter 2, Verse 45

trai-guṇya-viṣhayā vedā nistrai-guṇyo bhavārjuna nirdvandvo nitya-sattva-stho niryoga-kṣhema ātmavān

Translation

The Vedas deal with the three gunas; rise above the three gunas, O Arjun. Be free of the pairs of opposites, ever grounded in purity, free from concern for acquiring and keeping, and established in the self.

Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)

Commentary

The three gunas — sattva, rajas and tamas — are the qualities that make up the material world, and the ritual portions of the Vedas operate within them. Krishna asks Arjun to go beyond: to be nirdvandva (untouched by pairs like heat and cold, praise and blame) and free from the constant worry of getting and keeping (yoga-kṣhema).
