यावानर्थ उदपाने सर्वतः सम्प्लुतोदके । तावान्सर्वेषु वेदेषु ब्राह्मणस्य विजानतः ॥ ४६ ॥
yāvān artha udapāne sarvataḥ samplutodake tāvānsarveṣhu vedeṣhu brāhmaṇasya vijānataḥ
Translation
As much use as there is in a small well when there is water flooding everywhere, that much use is there in all the Vedas for a Brahmin who truly knows.
Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)
जैसे चारों ओर जल से भरे जलाशय के होते हुए छोटे कुएँ का जितना प्रयोजन रह जाता है, उतना ही प्रयोजन तत्त्व को जानने वाले ब्राह्मण का सब वेदों में रह जाता है।
Commentary
A vivid image. When a great lake is available, a small well serves no separate purpose — its water is already included. Likewise, for one who has realised the truth, every purpose the rituals were meant to serve is already fulfilled. The Vedas are not rejected; they are fulfilled.
