Bhagavad Gita — Chapter 2, Verse 38

sukha-duḥkhe same kṛitvā lābhālābhau jayājayau tato yuddhāya yujyasva naivaṁ pāpam avāpsyasi

Translation

Treating alike pleasure and pain, gain and loss, victory and defeat, engage in battle for the sake of battle; thus you will incur no sin.

Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)

Commentary

A crucial bridge verse. Having just offered heaven or earth as motives, Krishna now asks Arjun to let go of all outcomes and act from equanimity. Sin, he implies, comes from selfish attachment to results, not from the duty itself. This leads directly into the teaching of karma yoga.
