But if you will not fight this righteous war, then, abandoning your duty and your honour, you will incur sin.

परंतु यदि तुम यह धर्मयुक्त संग्राम नहीं करोगे, तो अपने स्वधर्म और कीर्ति को खोकर पाप के भागी बनोगे।
Commentary
Arjun had argued that fighting would bring sin (1.36). Krishna reverses it: in this situation, refusing to act is the sin. The Gita consistently teaches that failing to do one's rightful duty is itself a moral failure, not a neutral choice.
