Translation

It is said to be unmanifest, beyond thought and unchanging. Therefore, knowing it to be so, you should not grieve.

Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)

यह आत्मा अव्यक्त, अचिन्त्य और अविकारी कही जाती है। इसलिए इसे ऐसा जानकर तुम्हें शोक नहीं करना चाहिए।

Commentary

The self cannot be seen (avyakta) or fully grasped by the thinking mind (achintya). This is a useful humility: Krishna is not offering a theory to be proved like a physical fact, but a truth that is realised through understanding and practice. Its immediate fruit, he says, is freedom from grief.
