There was never a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor these kings; nor will any of us ever cease to exist in the future.

ऐसा कभी नहीं था कि मैं नहीं था, या तुम नहीं थे, या ये राजा नहीं थे; और न ऐसा होगा कि आगे चलकर हम सब नहीं रहेंगे।
Commentary
Krishna's first argument is about continuity: the self has no beginning and no end. Note that he includes himself, Arjun and all the kings — each an individual who has always existed and always will. The opposing armies are not about to be annihilated in any ultimate sense; only their bodies are at stake.
