Bhagavad Gita — Chapter 17, Verse 11

Shraddhatraya Vibhaga Yoga

aphalākāṅkṣhibhir yajño vidhi-driṣhṭo ya ijyate yaṣhṭavyam eveti manaḥ samādhāya sa sāttvikaḥ

Translation

Sacrifice offered according to scripture by those who seek no reward, with the mind firmly set on the thought "this ought to be done," is sattvic.

Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)

Commentary

Now sacrifice (yajna), which includes all worship and offering. Its sattvic form has three marks: it follows proper guidance, it seeks nothing in return, and it is done simply because it is right (yashtavyam eva). It is worship as duty and love, not as a transaction.
