आसुरीं योनिमापन्ना मूढा जन्मनि जन्मनि । मामप्राप्यैव कौन्तेय ततो यान्त्यधमां गतिम् ॥ २० ॥
āsurīṁ yonim āpannā mūḍhā janmani janmani mām aprāpyaiva kaunteya tato yānty adhamāṁ gatim
Translation
Entering demonic wombs, deluded birth after birth, they never reach Me, O son of Kunti, and so sink to the lowest state.

हे कौन्तेय! वे मूढ़ जन्म-जन्मांतर आसुरी योनियों को प्राप्त होकर मुझे न पाकर, उससे भी अधम गति को प्राप्त होते हैं।
Commentary
Mam aprapyaiva, "not reaching Me," is the real loss. The tragedy of the demonic life is not only suffering but missing the one thing that could end it. The next verse immediately offers the way out.
