Bhagavad Gita — Chapter 15, Verse 11

Purushottama Yoga

yatanto yoginaśh chainaṁ paśhyanty ātmany avasthitam yatanto ’py akṛitātmāno nainaṁ paśhyanty achetasaḥ

Translation

Striving yogis see it established in themselves. But those whose minds are unrefined and who lack awareness do not see it, even when they strive.

Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)

Commentary

An honest verse: effort alone is not enough. Yatanto appears twice, once for those who succeed and once for those who do not. The difference is akritatmanah, a heart not yet purified. Effort must be joined with inner cleansing, through right conduct, devotion and humility.
