Commentary
Sanjay addresses Dhritarashtra as "lord of the earth," a title that sits heavily given that the king's grasp on his kingdom is the cause of this war. The Pandava conches sound "each separately" — a line of named individuals, in contrast to the Kaurava army's single mass of sound.
