पिताहमस्य जगतो माता धाता पितामहः । वेद्यं पवित्रमोङ्कार ऋक्साम यजुरेव च ॥ १७ ॥
pitāham asya jagato mātā dhātā pitāmahaḥ vedyaṁ pavitram oṁkāra ṛik sāma yajur eva cha
Translation
I am the father of this world, the mother, the sustainer and the grandsire; the object of knowledge, the purifier, the syllable Om, and also the Rig, Sama and Yajur Vedas.
Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)
इस संपूर्ण जगत का धाता अर्थात् धारण करने वाला और कर्मों का फल देने वाला, पिता, माता, पितामह, जानने योग्य, पवित्र, ओंकार तथा ऋग्वेद, सामवेद और यजुर्वेद भी मैं ही हूँ।
Commentary
God as both father and mother — a tender image of divine care. He is also Om and the Vedas themselves: the goal of knowledge and the means of knowing.
