श्रीभगवानुवाच । इदं तु ते गुह्यतमं प्रवक्ष्याम्यनसूयवे । ज्ञानं विज्ञानसहितं यज्ज्ञात्वा मोक्ष्यसेऽशुभात् ॥ १ ॥
śhrī bhagavān uvācha idaṁ tu te guhyatamaṁ pravakṣhyāmyanasūyave jñānaṁ vijñāna-sahitaṁ yaj jñātvā mokṣhyase ’śhubhāt
Translation
The Blessed Lord said: To you, who are free from envy, I shall now declare this most secret knowledge together with its realisation, knowing which you will be freed from evil.

श्रीभगवान बोले: तुझ दोष-दृष्टि रहित भक्त के लिए इस परम गोपनीय विज्ञान सहित ज्ञान को पुनः भली-भाँति कहूँगा, जिसे जानकर तू दुख रूप संसार से मुक्त हो जाएगा।
Commentary
Krishna calls Arjun anasūyave — "one free from envy or fault-finding." The deepest teaching can be shared only with someone who receives it without resentment. Chapter 9 is often regarded as the heart of the Gita's teaching on devotion.
