शुक्लकृष्णे गती ह्येते जगतः शाश्वते मते । एकया यात्यनावृत्तिमन्ययावर्तते पुनः ॥ २६ ॥
śhukla-kṛiṣhṇe gatī hyete jagataḥ śhāśhvate mate ekayā yātyanāvṛittim anyayāvartate punaḥ
Translation
These two paths, the bright and the dark, are considered eternal in this world; by one a person goes and does not return, by the other one returns again.

क्योंकि जगत के ये दो प्रकार के — शुक्ल और कृष्ण — मार्ग सनातन माने गए हैं; इनमें एक के द्वारा गया हुआ वापस नहीं लौटता और दूसरे के द्वारा गया हुआ फिर वापस आता है।
Commentary
Many teachers read these two paths symbolically as well: a life lived in the light of knowledge and devotion leads beyond rebirth, while a life driven by desire for rewards leads back into the cycle.
