सुहृन्मित्रार्युदासीनमध्यस्थद्वेष्यबन्धुषु । साधुष्वपि च पापेषु समबुद्धिर्विशिष्यते ॥ ९ ॥
suhṛin-mitrāryudāsīna-madhyastha-dveṣhya-bandhuṣhu sādhuṣhvapi cha pāpeṣhu sama-buddhir viśhiṣhyate
Translation
One who has equal regard for well-wishers, friends, enemies, the indifferent, the neutral, the hateful, relatives, the saintly and the sinful — that person excels.

सुहृद्, मित्र, वैरी, उदासीन, मध्यस्थ, द्वेष करने योग्य और बंधुगणों में, तथा धर्मात्माओं और पापियों में भी समान भाव रखने वाला अत्यंत श्रेष्ठ है।
Commentary
The circle of equal vision widens to people — including enemies and those we dislike. Equanimity here means a fair and unprejudiced mind, not indifference to right and wrong.
