chañchalaṁ hi manaḥ kṛiṣhṇa pramāthi balavad dṛiḍham tasyāhaṁ nigrahaṁ manye vāyor iva su-duṣhkaram
Translation
For the mind is restless, O Krishna, turbulent, powerful and stubborn. I think it is as hard to control as the wind.
Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)
Commentary
One of the most relatable verses in the Gita. Arjun uses four words for the mind — chañchala (fickle), pramāthi (agitating), balavat (strong), dṛiḍha (obstinate) — and compares controlling it to catching the wind.
