Bhagavad Gita — Chapter 5, Verse 23

śhaknotīhaiva yaḥ soḍhuṁ prāk śharīra-vimokṣhaṇāt kāma-krodhodbhavaṁ vegaṁ sa yuktaḥ sa sukhī naraḥ

Translation

One who is able, here in this life before the body is released, to withstand the surge born of desire and anger, is a yogi; that person is happy.

Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)

Commentary

Vegam — the surge or rush. Desire and anger arrive like a flood. The yogi is not someone who never feels them, but someone who can withstand the surge without being swept away. That capacity, Krishna says, is happiness.
