विद्याविनयसम्पन्ने ब्राह्मणे गवि हस्तिनि । शुनि चैव श्वपाके च पण्डिताः समदर्शिनः ॥ १८ ॥
vidyā-vinaya-sampanne brāhmaṇe gavi hastini śhuni chaiva śhva-pāke cha paṇḍitāḥ sama-darśhinaḥ
Translation
The wise see with an equal eye a learned and humble Brahmin, a cow, an elephant, a dog, and an outcaste.
Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)
ज्ञानीजन विद्या और विनय से युक्त ब्राह्मण में, गाय में, हाथी में, कुत्ते में और चाण्डाल में भी समदर्शी होते हैं।
Commentary
Sama-darśhinaḥ — "those of equal vision." The list deliberately spans what society ranked highest and lowest. The wise see the same Self in all. It does not mean treating everyone identically in practical matters, but honouring the same divine presence in every being.
