न कर्तृत्वं न कर्माणि लोकस्य सृजति प्रभुः । न कर्मफलसंयोगं स्वभावस्तु प्रवर्तते ॥ १४ ॥
na kartṛitvaṁ na karmāṇi lokasya sṛijati prabhuḥ na karma-phala-saṅyogaṁ svabhāvas tu pravartate
Translation
The Lord does not create doership for people, nor their actions, nor the link between action and its fruit; it is nature that does all this.

परमेश्वर मनुष्यों के न कर्तापन की, न कर्मों की, और न कर्मफल के संयोग की रचना करते हैं; यह सब स्वभाव (प्रकृति) ही बरत रहा है।
Commentary
God is not a puppeteer assigning our deeds and their results. Our sense of being the doer, and the chain of cause and effect, belong to prakṛiti — nature and our own tendencies. This places responsibility with us, not with God.
