ब्रह्मार्पणं ब्रह्म हविर्ब्रह्माग्नौ ब्रह्मणा हुतम् । ब्रह्मैव तेन गन्तव्यं ब्रह्मकर्मसमाधिना ॥ २४ ॥
brahmārpaṇaṁ brahma havir brahmāgnau brahmaṇā hutam brahmaiva tena gantavyaṁ brahma-karma-samādhinā
Translation
The act of offering is Brahman, the oblation is Brahman, poured by Brahman into the fire that is Brahman. Brahman alone is reached by one who sees Brahman in every action.
Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)
अर्पण (स्रुवा आदि) भी ब्रह्म है, हवि भी ब्रह्म है, ब्रह्म रूपी अग्नि में ब्रह्म रूपी कर्ता द्वारा आहुति दी जाती है — ब्रह्म-कर्म में स्थित उस पुरुष को ब्रह्म ही प्राप्त होता है।
Commentary
Brahmārpaṇam — this verse is recited before meals in many Hindu homes and ashrams. It describes a vision in which the offering, the one offering, the fire and the goal are all the one Divine. Eating, working, anything, becomes worship when seen this way.
