एवं प्रवर्तितं चक्रं नानुवर्तयतीह यः । अघायुरिन्द्रियारामो मोघं पार्थ स जीवति ॥ १६ ॥
evaṁ pravartitaṁ chakraṁ nānuvartayatīha yaḥ aghāyur indriyārāmo moghaṁ pārtha sa jīvati
Translation
One who does not follow the wheel thus set in motion here, O Parth, living in sin and delighting only in the senses, lives in vain.

हे पार्थ! जो पुरुष इस लोक में इस प्रकार चलाए गए चक्र के अनुसार नहीं चलता, वह इंद्रियों में रमने वाला पापमय जीवन वाला पुरुष व्यर्थ ही जीता है।
Commentary
Moghaṁ — "in vain." A life spent only on personal pleasure, contributing nothing to the cycle that sustains it, is described as wasted. It is a call to see one's life as part of something larger.
