इन्द्रियाणां हि चरतां यन्मनोऽनुविधीयते । तदस्य हरति प्रज्ञां वायुर्नावमिवाम्भसि ॥ ६७ ॥
indriyāṇāṁ hi charatāṁ yan mano ’nuvidhīyate tadasya harati prajñāṁ vāyur nāvam ivāmbhasi
Translation
For when the mind follows the wandering senses, it carries away one's understanding, as the wind carries away a boat on the water.

क्योंकि विषयों में विचरती इंद्रियों में से जिस इंद्रिय के पीछे मन चलता है, वही इसकी बुद्धि को वैसे हर लेती है जैसे जल में वायु नाव को।
Commentary
Another memorable image. A boat without a firm rudder is pushed wherever the wind blows. Even one sense that the mind follows — sight, taste, or any other — can drag the whole intellect off course.
