कामात्मानः स्वर्गपरा जन्मकर्मफलप्रदाम् । क्रियाविशेषबहुलां भोगैश्वर्यगतिं प्रति ॥ ४३ ॥
kāmātmānaḥ swarga-parā janma-karma-phala-pradām kriyā-viśheṣha-bahulāṁ bhogaiśhwarya-gatiṁ prati
Translation
— their minds full of desire, heaven their highest goal, they speak of many special rites that yield birth and the fruits of action, aimed at pleasure and power.

— जिनका मन कामनाओं से भरा है, जिनके लिए स्वर्ग ही परम लक्ष्य है, वे जन्म और कर्मफल देने वाली, भोग और ऐश्वर्य की प्राप्ति के लिए अनेक विशेष क्रियाओं का वर्णन करते हैं।
Commentary
Krishna describes a religiosity driven by kāma, desire — treating rituals as transactions to get more pleasure, power and a better birth. Such practice keeps a person bound to the cycle of action and result, which is exactly what the yoga he is teaching aims to transcend.
