यं हि न व्यथयन्त्येते पुरुषं पुरुषर्षभ । समदुःखसुखं धीरं सोऽमृतत्वाय कल्पते ॥ १५ ॥
yaṁ hi na vyathayantyete puruṣhaṁ puruṣharṣhabha sama-duḥkha-sukhaṁ dhīraṁ so ’mṛitatvāya kalpate
Translation
O best of men, the steady person whom these do not disturb, who remains the same in pain and pleasure, becomes fit for immortality.

हे पुरुषश्रेष्ठ! जिस धीर पुरुष को ये (सुख-दुख) व्याकुल नहीं करते, जो सुख और दुख में समान रहता है, वही अमृतत्व (मोक्ष) के योग्य होता है।
Commentary
Following verse 14's teaching on enduring sensations, Krishna now states the reward: equanimity leads to amṛitatva, immortality or liberation. This is not about becoming numb. It is about not being pushed around by every pleasant or painful experience — a steadiness that lets a person act wisely.
